Ireland and Battery Storage: Green Technology Without Regret

A small island that stores megawatts of solar and wind power. This is how inclusive technology scales: local, sustainable, independent.

Ireland is a small island nation. It should be dependent on foreign energy. Instead, it built a system in which it can store much of its own solar and wind power in batteries. So it’s not dependent on fossil fuels, not dependent on imports.

This didn’t happen through subsidies from others. This happened because Ireland saw: we can go green here, and we can make money doing it.

This is DIP at energy scale. Inclusive production doesn’t mean: help others. Inclusive production means: make yourself and others independent. Energy independence is inclusion. Then more regions can decide for themselves.

Many countries wait for Europe to say: this is the green policy. Ireland said: we have wind and sun, we store it, we sell it. Done.

This doesn’t scale exponentially. But it does scale. Every battery you build is local work. Local knowledge. Local implementation.

This is why I see much potential in technology that can scale locally. Not everything can be delivered by Amazon. Not everything can be built by one company. Some things must be solved locally, built locally, managed locally.

That’s where inclusive technology grows.
